The traffic of the website is broadly categorized under 2 forms:
It is the category of traffic where results are analyzed from people typing the URL directly into their browser search bar. It is directly related to Brand Awareness. Therefore, an increase in direct traffic is usually related to a greater number of users who access web directly by typing URL into the browser.
It is the category of traffic which is generated by one party and transferred to the other party, in which the 3rd party provided the intermediary transit services.
There are some other sub categories of web traffic too, such as Referral, Email Marketing, Social Networks, Paid Media, Paid Search.
Referral Traffic is basically generated via people entering a website by clicking on a link from another site like a blog or any other forum.
